There’s something about the start of a new year in our industry that always carries a sense of momentum — but 2026 has come out of the gates particularly strong.
I spent last week in Vancouver at AME RoundUp, and came away genuinely energized by the conversations, the optimism, and the sheer level of activity across the room. It was one of those events that reminds you why this industry is so compelling: thoughtful people, innovative ideas, and a shared focus on turning opportunity into progress.
RoundUp was busy — not just in terms of attendance, but in intent. There were plenty of discussions around projects moving forward, technology being adopted more deliberately, and teams looking for ways to work faster, smarter, and with greater confidence in their decisions. The tone was constructive and forward looking, and it set a strong signal for the year ahead.
That sense of pace isn’t isolated. Everywhere we look, teams are busy. Capital is flowing, rigs are working, and the exploration and mining calendar is already filling rapidly. After a period where many operators were understandably cautious, we’re now seeing that caution turn into action — and that makes for an exciting environment to be part of.
For Krux, this backdrop creates both opportunity and responsibility.
2026 is shaping up to be a big year for us. We’re continuing to strengthen our partnership with IMDEX, and the value of that collaboration is becoming clear for both Krux and IMDEX customers alike. Together, we’re focused on helping customers solve real challenges across the mining value chain — from data capture through to insight and decision making — in ways that are practical, scalable, and grounded in how teams actually work.
At the same time, we’re deliberately investing in solid development efforts. That means putting time and resources into building and refining technology that makes a genuine difference: improving data quality, increasing confidence earlier in the process, and enabling better outcomes without adding unnecessary complexity. It’s not about building features for the sake of it — it’s about solving the right problems, well.
What stands out to me most at this point in the year is the alignment between industry momentum and customer intent. People aren’t just talking about digital transformation — they’re asking specific, informed questions about how to make it stick. That’s a meaningful shift, and it’s one we’re excited to support.
If the first few weeks of 2026 are anything to go by, it’s going to be a busy year — but the right kind of busy. One filled with collaboration, progress, and the opportunity to keep moving the industry forward together.
We’re just getting started.
